Researcher FAQs
How many assignments can I expect in a year?
The number of assignments researchers complete varies by market. It can range from one study per year to several. We conduct research in larger cities such as New York and Chicago approximately six times per year, while we might only conduct one study per year in a city like Oklahoma City or Grand Rapids. Our frequency depends on client demand, and we continue to grow.
What is a typical assignment like?
Typically, a researcher is responsible for covering 25 to 30 restaurants and is has adequate time to conduct these visits. We exchange information via email, fax, and/or mail between researchers and our office.
How do I know Intellaprice will pay me?
We are proud of our prompt payment record and encourage you to inquire about our practices. Should we consider you for an assignment, we would be happy to put you in touch with researchers who have worked for us so you can ask them about what it's like to work withIntellaprice(R).
Can I work for Intellaprice if I have a full-time job?
Yes; many of our researchers work full-time and complete assignments after hours. We also work with students, retirees, stay-at-home parents, and professional mystery shoppers.
How do I receive assignments?
When we have an assignment in your area, a project manager will contact you to let you know about the study and provide all project details. If you accept an assignment, we designate a territory that makes sense based on your geographic location and send all necessary information via email.
How will I be paid?
Researchers are paid as independent contractors. We pay each researcher a per-store rate that covers driving and research time and mileage. If your compensation excluding the mileage portion exceeds $600 in a calendar year, we will issue you a 1099 for tax purposes. This is rare, but may happen if you accept a heavy project load.
